Ice Cream of the Year 2025 · silver
Szeged's legendary patisserie on Klauzál tér. In 2025 its gelato called Camelia won silver at the Ice Cream of the Year competition, and master confectioner László Gyuris received a special prize too.
A confectionery opened on the ground floor of the New Zsótér House as early as summer 1874. After the great flood of 1879, Lajos Tisza directed the rebuilding of the city from this very house. In 1922 the Timișoara confectioner Géza Virágh and his siblings bought it and made it famous; after nationalisation the 'h' simply dropped off the name. It went bankrupt in 2010, stayed closed for six years, and László Gyuris reopened it in 2016 with 1920s-style interiors.
Kis Virág is across the square at Klauzál tér 8.
